Case
Review
The Case Reviews are a collection of Case Studies
detailing patient clinical history, cytology slides in sequence
& final diagnosis. The Case Reviews offer 3 viewing options
where cases can be viewed as sample cases or as a self test
where members can assess an entire case prior to answering
2 multiple choice questions and viewing a final diagnosis.
A search function has been implemented within
the Case Reviews to help find a specific Case Review by keyword.

The 3 Case Review Options are:
- Entire Case Review,
No Questions – Freely browse Case Review content
with diagnosis & further slide comments
- View entire Case Review
prior to viewing Diagnosis – View entire Case
Review content & further slide comments prior to viewing
diagnosis. There are no multiple choice questions for this
option.
- Case Review General
Test – View entire Case Review content before
tackling the multiple choice 2 Question test. Questions
must be answered prior to viewing diagnosis & further
slide comments.

How to use the Case Review:
- After logging in, click the Case Review button
or open the Case Review at www.challengesincytology.com/casereview.
- Either Select a Case from the initial 30
Case Reviews or click next to view the next 30 Case Review
in sequence within the collection. Alternatively, you can
search for a specific Case Review by keyword using the Search
function located at the top of the Case Review page
Using the Case Review
After opening your Case Review select
from either of the 3 options:
- Entire Case Review,
No Questions
Using this option open any image within the sequence to
view it in detail with all clinical history & further
comments associated. You can move back & forward within
the image sequence by clicking the next & previous
buttons beside the image. You can also view the Case Review
diagnosis by clicking the View Diagnosis button.
- View entire Case
Review prior to viewing Diagnosis
This option is very similar to the previous one. It differs
where you need to view all images within the sequence
prior to viewing the Diagnosis
- Case Review General
Test
The Case Review General Test includes multiple choice
questions that can be viewed only by viewing all images
in the Case Review sequence. After answering all questions
& checking your answers you will be given the option
to view the Case Review’s diagnosis.
Slide/Image pop ups
- The Case Review images can be viewed
in further detail by selecting any of the thumbnails in
the sequence.
- Click on an image thumbnail, image will
open enlarged in the centre of the screen
- You can freely move back & forward
within your image sequence by clicking the next &
previous buttons
- Depending on your Case Review option you
may have further comments, Clinical History, a link to
the questions & Diagnosis accompanying the image
- Slide/Image pop up window can be closed
at any time by clicking the close window button

Questions
The two questions are generic, Q1. Being
a multiple choice question & Q2 being a single choice question.
The questions can only be viewed within Option 3 after all images
within the sequence have been viewed. After answering your questions
click the Check Answers link to view your results.

View Diagnosis
The View Diagnosis option will be displayed
depending on the Case Review Option that you are in. To view
the diagnosis, click the View Diagnosis button, the Diagnosis
window will be displayed within the centre of the screen

Atlas
The Atlas is a categorised collection of featured
images that are displayed within the Case Reviews. Each image
in the Atlas can be opened to be viewed in further detail with
a link back to it’s parent Case Review.
You can move through the sequence of corresponding Case Review
images by clicking the next & previous buttons.

A search function has been implemented within
the Atlas to help find a specific Image by keyword.
How to use the Atlas
- After logging in click the Atlas button or
go to www.challengesincytology.com/atlas
- Select from either of the 4 Atlas Categories
- Crowded Sheets
- Single Cells & Small Groups
- Unusual Glandular Cells
- Multiple High Risk Patterns
- After opening an Atlas category click on an
Atlas image thumbnail, the image will open enlarged within
the centre of the screen with further information & a
link back to its parent Case Review
- The Atlas image pop up window can be closed
at any time by clicking the close window button
Workbook

The workbook is an online version of the NSW Cervical
Screening Program's publication Challenges in Cytology
How to use the Workbook
- After logging in click on the Workbook button
or open the Workbook at www.challengesincytology.com/workbook
- Enter the Workbook or enter through any of
the chapters in the collection of page links at the base of
the page
Viewing the Workbook:
Once inside the Workbook use the Previous
& Next links at the top & base of
the Workbook pages to navigate from page to page, or use the
Table of contents to find a specific area of the Workbook
Figures:
- To view a figure click the figure number.
The figure will open enlarged within the centre of the screen
with further information.
- Use the next & previous links at the
base of the figure window to move backwards & forwards
through the figure sequence
- Click close window to close the Figure window
References:
- To view reference to any content within the
Challenges in Cytology Workbook, click on the small reference
subscript number beside the content to be taken to its corresponding
reference.
- Close the Workbook to return to the Challenges
in Cytology Online E-Learning Program.
Lecture
Series



The Lecture Series is a collection of 6 interactive
flash audio tutorials discussing various topics in the practice
of Cytology.
The Lecture series requires the latest Flash player,
available as a free download from www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer.

The Lecture Series also requires a sound card
for the audio commentary in each Scene of the Lectures.
The are 2 versions of each lecture:
- Standard - Member prompted Scene – This
option allows the member to view each scene within the Lecture
by clicking a next & previous button
- Continuous Scene – This option plays
all Scenes in the lecture as a continuous presentation but
the member can at any time move to the Next or Previous scenes
at will.
How to use the Lecture Series
- After logging in click the Lecture Series
button or open the Lecture Series at www.challengesincytology.com/lectureseries
- Select a lecture to view from the list of 6
Lectures available. Select either a Standard or continuous
Lecture
- After opening, a Lecture will appear enlarged
in the centre of the screen. Depending on your selected Lecture
option it will either begin playing automatically or will
await a user prompt to view the next scene
- For convenience each scene within the
Lecture is numbered
Using the Lecture Series Controls
Contents –
Lists the contents of the Lecture by scene number. Useful
if you need to stop & restart at a later time. To return
to a specific scene, click the corresponding scene number
Replay – Replays the
scene from the beginning of that scene
Stop – Stops playing
the Lecture. To resume, click Replay, Next or Previous
Previous – Moves to
the previous scene & replays
Next –
Moves to the Next scene & begins playing
- You can return to the Challenges in Cytology

Multi Header
Sessions



The Multiheader Sessions are a collection of interactive
flash audio tutorials discussing various Case Reviews &
Case History's within the practice of Cytology.
The Multiheader Sessions requires the latest Flash
player, available as a free download from www.macromedia.com/flash.
The Multiheader Sessions also requires a sound card for the
audio commentary in each Scene of the Sessions.

Using the Multiheader Sessions Series
Controls
Contents –
Lists the contents of the Multiheader Session by scene number.

If your attempted login has failed you have
